Each candle is unscented, hand poured using paraffin wax, dyed and shaped to resemble both a virus and a bomb. The form draws from old sea mines, which I began studying as a kind of self-portrait, something seemingly defensive, sensitive, and floating in tension.
I made these during my time as a Brewhouse 2025 Emerging Artist in Residence. The series reflects on intimacy, fear, self defense and the ways queer people often carry all at once. By turning a symbol of danger into something you can hold, or burn. I wanted to explore what it means to live alongside threat, and still find softness.

• Approx. 1 lb

• Made by hand, so each one is slightly different
Keep it as a sculptural object or let it melt. Either way, it’s meant to sit with you and will keep its shape.
